Day 6

Poetry Prompt: Write a Things-Not-As-They-Appear poem.

The shell of you seems unbroken and soft---
almost painted like a gallery of love and underlining mystery.
You walk like the sun out of the crowd
and have the impression of an early spring.
With a smile like yours,
everyone imagines your heart
unlatched and golden.

The soul of you is unsafe and tainted.
It runs without guidance--
searching for a warm home and
a hug like a motherless child.
Under winter, you shiver
and show no interest in the world
and speak unfaithful of God’s words.
