Work of Art

Day 9

Prompt: Write a work poem.

Work of Art

I created russet brown for your flesh.
I circled in hazel for your eyes.
Dabbed white in for your smile,
Stroked solid navy blue for
your double breast jacket
and authorized hundreds of
green strips to run left to right
then down and up.
Dipped my brush once more for green
to fill your pocket square on the left.
Until my palette had no more space
for mixing shades,
I allowed your love, heart, and soul
to be the only work of art.
