PAD Challenge Day 23: Last Love

Day 23: Take the phrase “Last (blank)”, replace the blank with a word or phrase. Make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.

Last Love

Everyday, I mean every minute.
Every year, I mean for a lifetime.
I want you to be the last love
that I kiss under shooting stars and fireworks,
sing my dreams to and vent my disappointments to,
welcome you into my womb to plant another life,
walk hand-in-hand
and hip-to-hip in foreign lands,
while we cuddle,
share knowledge that we obtained when apart,
like this is the last of us
until one of us falls asleep to the last sound of one’s heart beat.
