PAD Challenge Day 6: After the Rain Before the Afternoon

PAD Challenge Day 6: Take the phrase “After (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem

After the Rain Before the Afternoon

After the rain,
I'll just patiently
wait for God's sun
to stick his neck out for me,
collaborate with refraction,
reflection and a dispersion
of light for a multitude
of colors in the sky.

I know there is a seven in one somewhere.
I know these nimbus clouds will fade.
All of these showers are blessings
to many, but only a few chosen
will witness the phenomenon.

Before the afternoon,
I promised Son
That I would stick it through-
the proverbial ends;
and be sweet as gold.
This life tastes a good fortune.
That's how blessed I feel...
That's how blessed I am...
because luck can be
so wishy-washy.
It could be a no show or
show up just to
run out on empty.
