PAD Challenge Day 12: Write a spirit poem.

The Angel that Helped You into Heaven

After your chest collapsed

and your last breath sung

into the air, my flesh would

lay still with the night;

my mind would wonder,

“who was the angel that

helped you into heaven?”.

my eyes would search for your

halo in the corners of my room;

your smile in the 

circumference of the moon;

your Fatherly words 

among the stars and clouds.

Sometimes-at-times,

I would sit in solitude,

ears in search of your voice.

When in need of a hug,

I would spread my arms

to match your angel wings,

welcome the wind to dance

circles around my skin and bones

as I dance spiritually with

my father again.
