 PAD Challenge Day 6: Write a blank in the blank poem.

Fill-in-the-Blanks

With prayers and actions,

love and hope,

thoughts and dreams,

hands and feet

bone, blood and flesh-

I fill what I can fill.

 

I birth and occupy

imaginable spaces.

I cultivated myself to

welcome yes’s as much

as I accepted no’s.

Sometimes-at-times

a little regret may find a home

in my mind, body, and soul.

 

Truth be told,

there really is nothing

to be sorry about because

when it comes to life’s

who’s, what’s, when’s, and why’s,

these questions in life

will never be naturally elementary.

 

And in between the multiple choices,

that I am a recipient of,

I can’t say I’ll circle back

or leave unanswered

because I’m still alive,

aligned with purpose

to fill in the blanks of my life

with joy, gratefulness and happiness

for what I am,

who I am,

and what I’ll be

before there is no space

where life can't be.

Don't Be Surprised  If the sun's full round face becomes a square  in between patches of scattered clouds.  If the moon no longer opens the night and  the stars no longer dance around your head. If the birds don't hold a tune  and the caterpillars never cocoon.  If the ocean doesn't wave and  the trees don't stare back at you. If the ones that loved you today,  hate you tomorrow. If the favorite voice you once heard goes weak and can no longer speak. If the lips you once french kissed,  harvest a new passionate tongue of deceit. PAD Challenge Day 22: What I 💜 About My Sister-Friends

PAD Challenge Day 22: Write a "What (blank)" poem. What I Love About My Sister-Friends  I have three older than me. One is 49.  She could be President  but she's an Oprah and  First Lady Michelle to me. One is 47.  She is the carribean carnival of life. Teaches me to never think twice. One is almost 43.  She can set a flame of excellence throughout an entire community. Then there are three; the same age as me. One is an Aries too. Adventurous, independent and empathic like me. Two is cool water, loyal and assertive.  Three is Vogue and creates things you've never thought you would see. Four of us together,  we're like the Louisiana's holy trinity. But what I really love about my sister friends is their unconditional love, and transparency. We even have the same positive energy. We can show our wounds, share our woes,  cry, laugh, defend  and be our authentic selves without feeling like frenemies. D'ElegantOne
