Wednesday Poetry Prompt: Ruby Jubilee
I'm back with another poem. Did you miss me poeming a poem a day (PAD), yay or nay? 😆 I was inspired and decided to join the poets in on the Wednesday Prompts, too! In celebration of my 40th year of life and my Grandma Ruby's passing (May 2017), I wrote this poem.
Wednesday Poetry Prompt: Write a year poem.
Ruby Jubilee
I'm four decades of love,
still burning the wick of life.
A birthstone conceived
out of the fire and desire
of mother and father.
A hot sapphire,
pushed and mined
from the Motherland
of my mother.
A living vessel
of virtue and vibrancy,
thriving in dreams and
breathing in loving memory
of my Grandma Ruby's ancestry.
